March 26, 2019

On Tuesday, March 26th, 2019, we released the latest update to StreetLight InSight. In addition to the usual bug fixes and performance improvements, this 6.4.2 release included several important updates.

Significantly Increased Sample Size for LBS with Pass-through Data Source

We are processing more data for the LBS with pass-through data source starting with January 2019. This additional data comes from new apps and providers added to source data and means approximately double the sample size for projects compared to our previous month, and quadruple the sample size compared to January 2018. You should see the sample size of your projects increasing when you run a project with January 2019 data. Learn more about how this affects your analyses.

Note: You may not be able to compare metrics from the prior months. Learn more about comparing results across data periods.

Original LBS Data Source is no longer available

As of this release, the original Location-Based Services data source is no longer available for use in any new O-D, O-D with Middle Filter, O-D to Pre-set Geography, or Zone Activity analyses. This data source was deprecated in November 2018 and since then no new months of data were added nor bugs fixed. The data source is now turned off for all accounts for these project types.

  • All projects that used the original LBS data source will remain in your account for visualization, downloading, and copying.
  • Analyses using the original LBS data source and the newer LBS with pass-through data source cannot be compared. If you need to compare an original LBS data source project or are using such a project in an ongoing analysis, please copy the project and re-run the analysis with our LBS with Pass-through data source. Learn more about copying projects.
  • Note the Visitor Home and Work Analysis is not affected by this change, and will still use our original LBS data source.

New Data Months

December 2018 data is now available for all Navigation-GPS analyses.

January 2019 data is available for all Navigation-GPS, LBS with pass-through, and Location-Based Services for Visitor Home and Work Analyses.

As always, we are interested in hearing any questions or feedback you may have, and we hope you enjoy using StreetLight InSight
