April 10, 2019

On Wednesday, April 10th, 2019 from 6 – 11 pm PT, we released the next update to StreetLight InSight. In addition to the usual bug fixes and performance improvements, this 6.5 release included several important updates.

Manage Zone Sets Grid Redesign

Starting with this update, you will notice a marked difference in look and feel of the app. The first changes are to the grid that displays Zone Sets. This grid has been migrated to a newer technology which provides you enhanced search and sorting capabilities. You will be able to choose which columns to display, choose the number of rows to be displayed per page, and you also this page will now loading faster than before. Learn more about using the new grid.

Fewer Projects Sent to Review

In an effort to get your analyses completed faster, we have optimized the Project review process and updated when Projects go to review. This means that fewer Projects will be placed in review in the first place. Learn more about the Project review process.

StreetLight Support now has the option to flag aZone Set to by-pass future coverage and privacy checks. Any Zone Set that is marked to auto-pass will still have the coverage and privacy checks completed, but the results will not cause the Project to be paused for review.

If you are planning to run multiple analyses, we strongly encourage you to ensure your Zones create the results you are looking for before setting up more Projects: complete a single analysis and review the results before creating others. This will ensure you get your full set of results in the most timely fashion and with the least effort.

Uploading More Shapefiles for Line Segments

If your line segment shapefile contains problematic segments such as extremely short segments or "circular segments" (a line with the same start and end points), we will skip these segments during Zone Set upload. All other segments in the shapefile will be uploaded.

During this process, we will provide you information about how many segments were skipped.

Learn more about uploading shapefiles of line segments.

Changes to Unique Zone Counts

One of our bug fixes in this release might positively affect your current Unique Zone Count. This fix will update your Unique Zone Count such that they are properly counted against your quota. If after our release your number of Unique Zones used goes down, do not worry because this represents the accurate number of Unique Zones used in your account. If you are concerned that the updated number is incorrect, please reach out to support

Quicker Loading of Interactive Visualizations

We've made improvements to the loading of our Interactive Visualizations. You should see the initial visualizations faster.

Reminder, the older "Visualize Travel Projects" was deprecated in back in March and will be turned off in the coming months, possibly as soon as early May. Please start using our Interactive Visualizations now and going forward. If you have any issues accessing or using the Interactive Visualizations, please contact Support

As always, we are interested in hearing any questions or feedback you may have, and we hope you enjoy using StreetLight InSight
